U4U in the European Parliament : let's commit together

There are more than 8,000 EP staff of all statuses in Brussels (5,253), Luxembourg (2,291) and Strasbourg (300) as well as a large number of European cities where EP offices rub shoulders with those of the Commission.

We are now called upon to elect our representatives to the Staff Committee.

In difficult times for the Institutions, for their staff and for the European project in general, it is more important than ever to make a strong and coherent choice.

On the strength of its development, U4U must not only be able to mark the debates so that our working and living conditions on all the sites where the EP is present, particularly in Luxembourg, evolve, but also so that with greater representative legitimacy, we can also push our concerns to the EP. Indeed, the EP is one of the three places (Commission, Council and EP) where in the event of reform of the Staff Regulations and during budgetary discussions, there are negotiations in which the voice of the staff can be heard.

The specific problems of EP sites are numerous. Whether we are thinking, for example, of the recruitment and retention of staff both within the institution and the European Schools, the marked social diversity among colleagues, the cost of living, career prospects and, more specifically, the Luxembourg site, the overbilling of medical expenses and the unfulfilled promises of housing allowances.

At U4U, we take each of these issues seriously.

Our programme also continues to be built with you to enrich it with all our realities.

We count on your support as you can count on ours.
