European schools, crèches and nurseries

The European Union must maintain a high-quality civil service in order to face the current challenges. European schools, crèches and nurseries supervise and support our children with the values and riches of a multicultural environment and quality education. which should be ensured for staff families and remain an important factor in the attractiveness of the European civil service.

With regard to European schools, crèches and nurseries, sufficient provision of infrastructure and quality staff is essential. Indeed, to allow everyone to concentrate on their work, it is important that a quality place for all the children of the staff and reception hours compatible with the constraints of the work are ensured.

​

We refuse to allow the education of our children, which is so important for families, to be a variable of budgetary adjustment. Similarly, additional means must be found so that the salary is sufficiently attractive for quality teachers and to avoid their subsequent departure.  It is necessary to increase the budget for the European schools to be able to consider the creation of an additional school in Brussels and Luxembourg and better distribute the school population.

Furthermore, we are in favor of the teaching of Luxembourgish as a third language within the European Schools of the Grand Duchy.
